I used Claude Code to rapidly build a timezone picker for a signup form. What used to require months of learning or thousands in developer fees now takes about ten minutes. The magic isn’t just speed - it’s the ability to create personalized solutions that match your exact vision.
The Problem
I needed a timezone converter for my cohort signup form, as international participants couldn’t interpret Eastern Time references.
The Solution
I gave Claude Code three sequential instructions: add a timezone picker, clarify day-of-week differences for different regions, and organize zones intuitively. The result included a dropdown with 15+ timezones and dynamic conversion showing actual dates.
The Broader Shift
“The connection between seeing something → wanting it → having it has collapsed.” Previously, building custom software required substantial time investment or financial resources. Now, the primary constraint is waiting for deployment.
What Matters Most
Beyond functionality, I value the “weirdness” and personal impulses involved in creation. I’m building toward teaching others that you can build YOUR things - not approximations or compromises, but solutions precisely tailored to individual needs.
